Welcome to WallarooJetty.com.au. We began with a simple mission: ensuring that every fisherman, family, and traveler knows exactly when the gates are open at our iconic Wallaroo Jetty.
But as any local knows, the jetty is just the beginning. Our mission has expanded into Yorke Peninsula Untold – a journey into the soul of our region. We’re here to help you slow down, stay longer, and fish smarter across the entire peninsula.
Our Mission
Slow Travel, Deep Insight
Through our website and YouTube channel, Yorke Peninsula Untold, we go beyond the tourist brochures. We spend extended time in our small coastal towns, sitting down with local business owners and lifelong residents to share the true joys and honest struggles of life on the YP.
Whether we’re talking to a professional crabber in Moonta Bay or a shop owner in Edithburgh, we aim to give you a deeper insight into the community you’re visiting. When you understand the pulse of the town, you’re not just a tourist – you’re part of the story.
Fishing the Whole Peninsula
While Wallaroo is our home base, the “Yorke” offers a diverse range of fishing experiences. From the rugged surf of the bottom end to the calm waters of the Gulf St Vincent, we provide guides that cover the whole peninsula.
We test and review gear specifically for these local conditions. Whether it’s finding the right rod for the Port Victoria jetty or the perfect lure for a hidden rocky cove, our recommendations are born from local knowledge and miles of travel across the “Foot.”
Meet the Storyteller
Chris – Founder & Explorer Chris is a South Australian local with a deep-seated love for the Yorke Peninsula. Through Wallaroo Jetty’s Pages and Yorke Peninsula Untold, Chris combines his passion for travel and community storytelling to showcase the authentic side of regional life. When he isn’t filming a new episode or chatting with a local publican, you’ll find him with a line in the water at one of the many jetties he calls home.
